Department: Economic Development and Tourism
The vision of the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism is to promote economic growth and development in the Northern Cape province, based on DEBS, i.e. Diversification, Empowerment, Employment, Business Creation and Sustainable Development.
The Department's strategic goals are to ensure an effective, compliant and competent Department that will provide technical support and economic policy advice to the province; promote and support sustainable integrated economic development through the development of enterprises and local economies, and the empowerment of historically disadvantaged individuals; stimulate economic growth through industry development
and trade investment promotion; ensure an equitable, socially responsible business environment that allows for predictability; develop provincial economic policies and strategies to achieve and measure sustainable economic development; and manage the development and promotion of the Northern Cape as a competitive tourist destination.
