Erdogan said that "everyone had to give hand in hand and unite against the Syrian regime".
LONDON
Speaking to reporters after a tete-a-tete meeting with the British Prime Minister David Cameron in London on Friday, Erdogan said that "everyone had to give hand in hand and unite against the Syrian regime".
"The United Nations (UN) Security Council, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League have to take more important steps in this process on Syria," Erdogan underlined.
"Britain and Turkey share relations in many fields, including political, military, commercial, economic and cultural ones. Despite serious economic problems in Europe, the trade volume between Turkey and Britain has risen to 14 billion USD from 10 billion USD," Erdogan stressed.
"We are grateful to Britain for supporting Turkey's EU bid. It is not possible for us to forget Britain's support in this regard," Erdogan stated.
"What is taking place in Syria is inhuman. There is a regime in Syria which massacres its own people. We need to unite against this regime. We just can not remain silent on the developments taking place in Syria, including the military build-up in Aleppo and the possibility of the Syrian regime using weapons of mass destruction. The steps that need to be taken will be taken by the UN Security Council, OIC, and the Arab League," Erdogan stressed.
